    Referring doctors can organise open access endoscopy by completing this form and faxing it to 9812 3886. Consultation is not required if the patient is physically fit and there is a clear indication for endoscopy. The patient will return to the referring doctor with the endoscopy report and the histology report will be mailed. Dr Leong does not charge a gap for insured patients.

  • Vedolizumab (Entyvio) Research Review

    This review is a concise summary of the important pharmacological and clinical characteristics of vedolizumab (Entyvio®), which is available in Australia and reimbursed on the PBS for the treatment of adult patients with moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis (UC) or Crohn's disease (CD) who have had an inadequate response with, lost response to, or are intolerant to either conventional therapy or tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α antagonists. Expert commentary on the use of vedolizumab from a clinical perspective is provided by Professor Rupert Leong, Senior Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist, Head of Concord Hospital Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service and foundation director of IBD Sydney Organisation.
